Crow's Nest

From Dad’s Crow’s Nest,
We walk as one the,
Well traveled path of
Father & Son.
What did you want to be,
When you grow up Dad,
How come you got no hair,
What kind of bird is that,
Is Mom still mad at you,
I’m thirsty
I Love you Dad,
There’s Grandpa.

Saturday Morning Haiku

Winter’s hearts,
Holding hands forever,
Maybee

 Laughing branch,
Watches last star playing,
Moon tag
Early morning moon,
Screams to sleep sun,
Late again

Family Circle

Friday Poetically with Brian Miller

The Way I See It #8
Jonas Gerard's
The wrong side where my kinfolk dwell,
Takes no notice of the damaged family circle,
It’s what we know, who we are,
It’s our heart.

What is poor,
What is rich,

Uptown where the bluebloods grow,
The buildings straight & new,
Maps lead the way to,
Places we don’t want to go.

Who wants to be on their,
Wrong side of the tracks,
Not Me
Not Them

"Music gets me going with a willingness to take risks."~Jonas Gerard

"Learn to trust that everything happens for a reason. Give up results. Give up planning. Give up worry, and the big one, give up fear."~

The Mr. HOME this fine day?

1/26/2010

A known stranger came again next door,
And he waved the false friend’s hello,
He wore the crocked cocky smile,
Of the conceited yet uncaught.

The Mr. Home this fine day?

Though to be a friend’s friend,
He turned and knocked the door,
With-out thought of right or wrong,
Singing the silent song.

The Mr. Home this fine day?

Mrs. Brown came into the window,
With, fresh make-up not for her Mr. ,
She  looked not at but through me,
The answer now apparent.

The Mr. Home this fine day?

Rooster Haiku

Greenish dawning,
Breathless upon the east,
Rooster waits

Pouting poultry,
Impatiently passes  time,
Sun uncooperative

Weathered vocalist,
Fading moon together wait,
Youthful sun

Lighthearted squirrel,
Cantankerous old rooster,
Deliberate politics

Teasing sun,
Tickles sagging shoulder of,
Solemn rooster

Ybor City Kushu

Sauvignon Blanc
Complement spring menu
Pale straw palate

Arturo Fuente’s,
Cooled smoked raising,
Saloon’s ceiling

Wintered admirer,
Gazes toward Summer,
Youth’s optimism

Unfocused turquoise,
With frozen stare,
Spews jealousy

Wooden Elephant Haiku

Trunk downcast,
Sad Wooden Elephant,
Awaits herd’s call

Attentive trunk,
Hopeful Wooden Elephant,
Inhales breeze

Damaged eared,
Charging wooden elephant
Western route

North facing,
Perplexed wooden elephant,
Uncertainly march's

Warm missed,
Placed wooden elephant,
Locks doors

Short break in the Rain

Moon descends,
 Harbored sails sleep,
Sun whispers
Blue heron,
Flying from where,
Landing here

Crow vocalizations,
 Heard by none,
Except one
Stranded wreckage,
Waiting next winter tide,
Slip away

Dirty gulls,
Slip into communal bath,
Clean Saturday

Winter’s waters
Crashing cruel & harsh
Eternal serenity

Micro Haiku

One Shot Wednesday - Poetry Week 29

Winter strawberry,

Grows overweight in garden,

Miniature pleasures

Darkened path,

Hand & hand walking,

Illuminating Us

Soaring hawk,

Causes us to seek shelter,

Brave tomorrow

So little rice,

 Much winter enduring,

 Summer love

This poem was written for One Shot Wednesday

Dolls in this Haiga are more than 60 years old; the strawberry was locally grown & magnificent.
